The Devil's At The Door
03:53
|
|||
I lost my mind in the summertime,
Found it in my place at the end of the line,
Drinking for one in the silver of the moon and the black of the night,
When you gonna sort out your life?
I think I'll make a start when you've pulled out the knife,
The devil's at the door but this time I won't let him in.
I left my fear back in paradise,
Broken on the wheel and left out to dry,
Water all around but the stuff I found went down easier,
Once upon a time I would've given up,
But I found myself in a plastic cup,
The devil's at the door but this time I won't let him in.
Fleeing a mind that's full of regret,
And running out of time I should never have spent,
I woke myself from a daydream and into a nightmare,
The man made of stone that's in my dreams,
He steals my soul and stifles my screams,
The devil's at the door but this time I won't let him in.
The devil's at the door but this time I won't let him in.

Since I Came Of Age
03:04
|
|||
Left my soul in Leros on the shores by Panteli,
I don't go there no more except when I dream,
I don't need it anyway cos I've a heart of stone,
That crumbled into dust when you broke me.
I'll be sad and lonely til the end of all my days,
But that ain't nothing new I've felt that since I came of age,
I'm moving on to see if I can find something that's real,
Cos being used ain't what I'm here to feel.
I've sang Con Te Partiro when I sung myself to sleep,
I've shared my bed with one or two or three,
And now I'm bold enough to see the wood through all the trees,
So Kalinichta my sweet omorfi.
I'll be sad and lonely til the end of all my days,
But that ain't nothing new I've felt that since I came of age,
I'm moving on to see if I can find something that's real,
Cos being used ain't what I'm here to feel.
I'll be sad and lonely til the end of all my days,
But that ain't nothing new I've felt that since I came of age,
I'm moving on to see if I can find something that's real,
Cos being used ain't what I'm here to feel.

A Song For Old Fisherman
03:56
|
|||
When I was a boy there was barely a house on the hill,
And the rusted old crane was a finger that beckons me still,
I was freezing on Scombrus and counting the days,
But the fish are all gone and the captain won't sail.
I could fire big guns for the navy,
But I couldn't kill if you paid me,
I could be on a trawler just off Novia Scotia but It's Patman's Wharf in Upnor for me.
By Smiling Morn, The captain was out for some air,
With a glint in his eye, he says "She'll sail, she's a sound affair,"
Sound as the bucket dad lost in the sea,
I wish all my days could have felt half as a free.
I could fire big guns for the navy,
But I couldn't kill if you paid me,
I could be on a trawler just off Novia Scotia but It's Patman's Wharf in Upnor for me.
Just as time rots a boat til she no longer floats all things end,
And soon the old wharf will be houses without berths to lend,
But I'll always remember a time when to me,
The brown river Medway was a mighty great sea.
I could fire big guns for the navy,
but I couldn't kill if you paid me,
I could be on a trawler just off Novia Scotia but it's Patman's wharf in Upnor for me.

The whole world's on fire,
And my tears won't quench the flames,
The whole world's on fire,
And my tears won't quench the flames,
When you see me crying,
Know that it's not in vain.
I'm so tired of trying,
But I'll keep on just the same,
So tired of trying,
But I'll keep on just the same,
When you see my crying,
Know that it's not in vain.
We should be coming together,
Instead of falling apart,
All this oppression and tyranny,
Breaks my wounded heart.
The whole world's on fire,
And my tears won't quench the flames,
The whole world's on fire,
And my tears won't quench the flames,
When you see me crying,
Know that it's not in vain.
I'm so tired of trying,
But I'll keep on just the same,
I'm so tired of trying,
But I'll keep on just the same,
When you see me crying,
Know that it's not in vain.
We should be coming together,
Instead of falling apart,
All this oppression and tyranny,
Breaks my wounded heart.

Green Crack
03:54
|
|||
I'm not sleeping,
But I'm never awake,
I asked for bread,
But I was given cake,
Born near a river,
But I'll die in a lake.
I've got green crack by the bluebell patch,
Tell me what have I got to fear?
We're not bleeding,
But we all got stab wounds on our back,
I'm not wrong,
But I don't feel quite right,
I look up to the moon,
But the sun's the one shining down.
I've got green crack by the bluebell patch,
and now what have I got to fear?
Tell me what have I got to fear?

Up Again
04:15
|
|||
The sun shines down on a windowless room,
But I'll be up again, feel it's warmth again.
Hold me down while my purpose drowns,
But I'll be up again, see your face again.
In the summertime, I'll be up again,
With the whiskey and wine, I'll be up again.
Footsteps fall in my restless sleep,
But I'll be up again, I'll be free again.
In the summertime, I'll be up again,
With the whiskey and wine, I'll be up again,
Underneath the lights, I'll be up again,
Those endless nights, I'll be up again.
In the summertime, I'll be up again,
With the whiskey and wine, I'll be up again,
Underneath the lights, I'll be up again,
Those endless nights, I'll be up again.

Pussycat
03:47
|
|||
Be my pussycat, and I'll be your owl,
We'll sail oceans of azure,
Be mine now, as you were back then,
We'll dance in the silver of the moon.
Oh puss, oh puss, how I wish,
You'd let me sing to you again,
And in my dreams, I place a ring,
On your satin finger.
You were my pussycat, and I was your owl,
We sailed oceans of azure,
By the shore, I sang to you,
And we danced in the silver of the moon.

The Fisherman's Daughter
03:31
|
|||
Don't fall in love with the fisherman's daughter,
Don't lose your head to the sound of the sea,
Don't hold hands up by the castle,
Don't be a fool just like me.
Don't lose yourself in the locks of her red hair,
Don't be entranced by her shape and her guile,
Don't spend your days in a cycle of longing,
Don't be a fool just like me.
Don't let her see you cry and shudder,
As her ship sails the flag of another,
Don't trawl the world for a better lover,
You'll be a lonely fool just like me.
Don't trawl the world for a better lover,
You'll be a lonely fool just like me.

Who Bit Ya
04:14
|
|||
Don't push me,
I'm close to breaking,
You should know,
Been there for most of your life.
Who bit ya?
Who made you so cold?
Don't get in my way,
You'll be the first to know,
Nowhere left to go.
Who bit ya?
Who made you so bold?
Who are you to speak for me?
You sound like you're trying not to know,
Take your fear and go.
Who bit ya?
Who made you so low?
I'm dying to know.
`don't push me,
I'm close to breaking,
You should know,
Been there for most of your days.
What bit ya?
Who made you so cold?
